Well looks like the vote is in and the Mayor has been re-elected. The Republicans tried to put up a fight but fell pretty short. Oddly enough Debra Johnson received 1000 write-in votes. I'm not an election specialist but common sense tells me there is a lot of dissatisfaction among voters in South Brunswick. Think about that figure of 1000. That is a lot of people taking the time to type that name out. I understand it breaks down to something like this:
Mayor Gambatese-5000
Woods-Cleary-2000
Debra Johnson-1000
These are just loose figures but I find it terribly delicious that 1000 citizens exercised there right to make a choice. There could be a wind of change coming in town, it should be fun to see who can ride that need for change the next time around!
